The World Health Organization has called for international travel limitations to be lifted or relaxed.
Travel restrictions “do not add value” and continue to exacerbate “economic and social stress.”
During a video conference from Geneva Tuesday, the UN health organization modified its worldwide health laws.
The World Health Organization stated: “The failure of travel restrictions introduced after the detection and reporting of Omicron variant to limit the international spread of Omicron demonstrates the ineffectiveness of such measures over time.
“Travel measures – e.g. masking, testing, isolation/quarantine, and vaccination – should be based on risk assessments and avoid placing the financial burden on international travelers.”
The WHO further stated that confirmation of Covid-19 immunization for foreign travel may not be required as “the single pathway or condition” allowing international travel.
