On 23rd March 2023, Viva Cruises’ second brand-new ship will be christened at its home port of Düsseldorf.
Then, on 1st April, Viva Two will set off on its first trip from Frankfurt to Passau.
The Viva One’s sister ship can accommodate 190 passengers in 95 cabins, making it the line’s flagship ship.
The catalytic converter and particle filter-equipped exhaust system on board Viva Two, according to Viva Cruises, is “the most significant technical improvement” on board and will allow the ship to satisfy EU regulations.
Andrea Kruse, the chief operations officer, said: “We are delighted to be able to welcome nationally and internationally invited guests and business partners to our second major christening to celebrate our second new-build ship Viva Two together with them and then to send her off on her first voyage.”
Viva Cruises’ managing director and CEO of parent firm Scylla AG, Arno Reitsma, stated: “Of course, we will also be using this day to present the new ship to our guests for the first time and to introduce them to our innovative concept in architecture and design as well as innovations in the technical area.”
He added: “Our new-build ship, Viva Two, will make river cruising even more attractive.”
The ship’s exhaust system, which Retisma commended as a “major stride towards more sustainability,” was praised.
“With our second ship, we are once again focusing on sustainable construction and on moving forward with a heavy focus on the environment and the current times,” he said.
