Prior to its cruises, Virgin Voyages has eliminated the requirement for pre-embarkation testing.
The line stated that the decision to relax Covid regulations was made in response to the CDC’s decision to stop the Covid-19 programme on the 18th July.
Pre-embarkation testing has been discontinued starting on 24th July for EU sailings and on 27th July for US sailings.
Additionally, 10% of the ship’s capacity operated by Virgin Voyages will be unvaccinated.
The firm stated that the ship crew on US and EU sailings will continue to be properly immunized.
It further stated that any recommendations from the CDC and Clia would be taken into account moving forward.
According to the line: “Passenger and crew well-being is the main focus and they continue to follow the advice of their expert medical team.”
The CDC said “new guidance” for cruise ships to mitigate and manage Covid-19 transmissions will be available “in the coming days”.
