Following the renovation of a historic finca in Majorca, a modest luxury hotel for Virgin Limited Edition will be built.
The 28-room hotel will debut in summer 2023 on the Son Bunyola Estate in the Tramuntana section of the island.
The finca will be built as part of an 810-acre estate located on a Unesco World Heritage Site, which currently includes three stand-alone luxury private villas run by Sir Richard Branson’s hotel collection.
The Son Bunyola Hotel will accept reservations later this year.
The finca’s development started in June with a historical reconstruction project focused on the existing buildings and structures, with traditional and local materials at the hotel’s heart.
There will be two restaurants, lounges, various outdoor dining terraces, and a swimming pool.
Jon Brown, managing director of Virgin Limited Edition, said: “The northwest coast of Majorca has always been a very special place for Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Limited Edition.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to restore this beautiful monument and honour its rich history, and look forward to welcoming another small luxury hotel to our portfolio – not least inviting guests across the globe to discover this unspoilt corner of the world.
“Celebrating and preserving the heritage of this important Majorcan landmark has been at the very forefront of our restoration plans throughout. The finca has very much been designed to enhance the incredible natural surroundings it is blessed with.
“This is of course combined with our commitment to sustainability, something which is ingrained in everything we do – from energy saving to rainwater harvesting and environmental protection.”
