For the first time since the outbreak began, Virgin Atlantic is resuming service to all US destinations, next month.
On 2nd March, the transatlantic carrier will resume five weekly routes from Heathrow to Seattle, and the same number of weekly services from Heathrow to Washington, DC.
It claimed a 50% rise in bookings year over year and stated that capacity to New York, San Francisco, and Atlanta would be increased in March to meet demand.
Virgin Atlantic claimed it will provide more flights from the UK to Los Angeles and Orlando than any other airline starting in April, when a third daily route from Heathrow to LAX begins, as the company increases its Orlando flights from Heathrow, Manchester, Edinburgh, and Belfast.
Last month, Virgin Atlantic announced its first new US route since 2015, a four-times-weekly service to Austin, Texas, which will begin on May 25.
Juha Jarvinen, the company’s chief commercial officer, stated: “Following the relaxation of travel restrictions, we’ve seen demand increase to many of our global destinations, but particularly to our heartland in the USA. Our customers can’t wait to return.
“The restart of our Seattle and Washington DC services mark an important milestone, as we move into recovery and welcome our customers back on board to all the destinations they’ve missed.
“We’re simply not Virgin without the Atlantic and our growing transatlantic portfolio demonstrates why we’re the airline of choice to the USA.”
Onward connections on codeshare flights operated by Delta will be available on Virgin Atlantic flights to the United States.
For new bookings made before 31st August 2022, the airline has maintained its unlimited free date and flight change policy.
