Vietnam is planning to begin allowing tourists in late November. Vietnam has been closed for nearly two years and has only just begun to talk about a “sandbox” project as a trial on the island of Phu Quoc, which was supposed to take place in October. Although the plans appear to be more established currently.
You must be fully vaccinated, undergo a PCR-RT or LAMP test 72 hours prior to travel, a second test at the point of entry, and the third test on day seven after arrival in Vietnam. Tourists must also download a tracking app and purchase insurance with a minimum coverage of $50,000, which includes Covid-19 coverage. If that isn’t awful enough, you are not permitted to travel freely in the country for the duration of your stay. All packages must be purchased from a local agency, and if you want to travel somewhere after the first week, you will need to purchase another tour package.
They also aim to open other popular destinations including Ha Long Bay and Hoi An to foreign visitors in November, but no firm plans have been announced.
