Unwind in Style at the Newly Opened Benson Hotel and Faculty Club in Colorado

A brand-new boutique hotel, the Benson Hotel and Faculty Club, has opened as the Aurora hospitality hub for the renowned University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. Long regarded as the entrance to the Rockies, Aurora has developed into a biotech hub and a focus for health and life sciences research in Colorado. The Benson Hotel, a Preferred Hotel & Resorts member, is conveniently located halfway between Denver International Airport and the city center. The Fitzsimmons Innovation Community, a new business and residential area with a focus on medicine and bioscience, is nearby.

The Benson Hotel has opulent guestrooms, a full-service restaurant, roomy, well-lit meeting spaces, an attractive ballroom, and a rose garden for large social gatherings in order to specifically satisfy the demands of the hospitals and the University.

There are 106 bedrooms, suites, and apartment-style suites with kitchens among The Benson’s accommodations. The four different room motifs in the guestroom design each celebrate a different aspect of Colorado’s natural beauty. Some of the rooms feature warm wood paneling, others whimsical botanical wallpaper, and all of the bathrooms feature modern hardware.

A sitting area and work area are included in standard Queen and King accommodations. Expanded Studio and Premium King apartments come with greater space, a kitchenette area, and a view of the mountains or garden. Elegantly furnished, generous suites with some having balconies and views of the Rose Garden, the Front Range, and the Anschutz Campus are available.

The Common Good, the 100-seat restaurant at The Benson, offers a menu of freshly produced food that was devised by Executive Chef Donovan Davis, a seasoned member of the Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts. Featuring comfort food that is influenced by the seasons and is made with locally sourced ingredients, it promises to serve as a community gathering place. The dining area has wall-to-wall windows, and there is a wraparound outside terrace for alfresco eating.

The hotel’s second level features a beautiful 3,800 square-foot ballroom that can hold up to 250 people as one of the meeting rooms. It has two enormous marble fireplaces and lots of natural light. Seven boardrooms with windows will also be included, and the 4,000-square-foot Rose Garden will be used for outdoor weddings and other gatherings.

Over 100 brand-new, original works by a group of modern Colorado painters, including William Matthews, are featured in The Benson Hotel & Faculty Club’s outstanding Western art collection.

A live representation of the West, the new collection explores the many dimensions of light and season, agriculture and nature, and the human condition. Every piece of art—including every picture, sculpture, mural, and mosaic—was specially commissioned for the hotel. The pieces cooperate to reveal the vast Colorado scenery while each one explores a different idea.

The collection, which may be viewed in the hotel’s public areas, guest rooms, and suites, presents the country and its inhabitants from a variety of angles. Matthews and seasoned curator of art John Grant are responsible for The Benson Collection. The collection includes works from Colorado artists who are shown in prestigious galleries and museums across North America.

Leaders, decision-makers, and the Anschutz medical community will be able to socialize off-campus in a private setting at the Faculty Club. A full-service bar, indoor seats, and private meeting rooms are all features of the members-only area, which also offers a discreet environment. The services provided by The Benson Hotel will be accessible to members first.

Bruce Davey Benson, who led the University of Colorado (CU) system from March 2008 to 1st July 2019, held the record for the longest term as president. His name is honored on the building’s nameplate. The hotel, which Denver-based Aimco constructed, will be run by Olympia Hotel Management.
