United Airlines plans to operate 22 transatlantic flights per day from London this summer, following the addition of a new Boston connection.
Boeing 767-300 aircraft with 167 seats conduct the daily Heathrow-Boston service.
The airplane has 46 business class flat-bed seats, 22 Premium Plus seats, and 99 economy seats, including 47 Economy Plus seats with extra legroom and personal space.
United claims to have more premium seats than any other US carrier between London and Boston.
From Boston Logan International Airport, the airline offers 31 daily flights to seven locations around the United States.
Bob Schumacher, UK and Ireland sales director, said: “We are excited about our all-new service between London Heathrow and Boston, which provides our customers in the UK with even greater travel choice and direct access to Boston and the broader New England region.
“This is a wonderful area of the United States and truly has something for everyone. We very much look forward to welcoming our customers on board this new service”.
Ross Baker, Heathrow’s chief commercial officer, added: “It’s fantastic to be launching a new link between New England and the UK.
“United’s new Boston-London link is a great addition to its expanded operations at Heathrow and will give our passengers more choice in direct flights to the US.”
