Due to “concerning Covid-19 rises in various nations,” Tunisia has reverted to requiring PCR tests for international immigrants.
The Tunisian Ministry of Public Health declared that the rule would take effect on Wednesday, 27th October for all visitors entering the country, and will apply to both vaccinated and non-vaccinated individuals.
Previously, a PCR test requirement was in effect, but it was removed on October 16.
Unvaccinated visitors to the north African location must also self-isolate for seven days in an authorized hotel, while children under the age of 18 who are traveling alone or with vaccinated parents are exempt from the requirement.
The measures were adopted, according to the Tunisian National Tourist Office UK & Ireland, “in order to safeguard the local community and prevent the spread of the new type.”
Tests must be completed at least 72 hours before boarding an aircraft to Tunisia, with QR code proof. Children under the age of 12 are not required to pay.
A Tunisian Travel Locator must also be completed, printed, signed, and presented upon arrival.
Tourists on organized package vacations with tour companies are also subject to the new requirements, according to the Tunisian National Tourist Office UK & Ireland.
For Johnson & Johnson vaccines, the minimum period between the final dose and travel is 28 days and 14 days for other approved vaccines.
