The Tui Group has stated intentions to add capacity to Jamaica in the summer of 2023.
Following a meeting with senior Jamaica Tourist Board executives last week, the statement was made.
Currently, Tui offers up to 10 weekly flights from Gatwick, Manchester, and Birmingham to the island.
According to the Jamaica Tourist Board, the flights assist cruise and land stopover visitors to the island with the goal of having up to eight flights just for stopover arrivals by next summer.
Donovan White, director of tourism, said: “Each flight carries roughly 340 passengers which means about 3,000 passengers spend 11 to 12 consecutive nights in the destination.
“This is a very positive step forward as we work towards full recovery from the fallout of the pandemic.”
Jamaica tourism minister Edmund Bartlett said: “Part of Jamaica’s recovery efforts has been to strengthen the partnership with our tourism stakeholders like Tui Group.
“Increasing flights signals confidence which will undoubtedly augur well for the destination in terms of arrivals and economic activity in terms of jobs and overall earnings.”
