Tribe Hotel Group has expanded its portfolio to eight hotels with the opening of Wood Wharf in Canary Wharf, London, as its first UK property.
Tribe, a division of Ennismore, a joint venture between Accor and the hospitality industry, was established in Perth in 2017.
The interior design team at Ennismore, who also contributed to the group’s Hoxton hotels, created the 320-room Tribe London Canary Wharf.
As a “new style of hotel, with design driven areas, but functional: a place to work, dine, drink, chill, and socialize; created for modern travelers, inspired by worldwide travel,” Tribe London Canary Wharf launched in the first few days of August.
There are three different types of rooms, with Tribe Comfort providing a 14 square meter room with city views. Tribe Comfort XL offers corner rooms with views of Wood Wharf, while Tribe Comfort Atrium offers identical-sized rooms that look out over the hotel’s atrium. King-size beds, floor to ceiling windows, and rainfall showers are all features of the accommodations.
The 200-cover Feels Like June all-day dining venue and the 24-hour Grab & Go counter are among the food and beverage options.
The hotel also offers an 80-seat terrace and an oval-shaped bar.
Francois Leclerc, vice president of operations for the Tribe brand, stated: “We are excited to finally bring the bold energy of the Tribe experience to the UK, following the brand’s global success. Our vision for an intelligent, functional, design-driven hotel is a perfect fit for the dynamic Canary Wharf destination.”
Additional Tribe locations are expected to open in Milan, Belo Horizonte, Warsaw, Riga, Lyon, Bangkok, and other cities.
Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, and Chester are among the new UK locations that are in the works.
