Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise was invited by Etihad Airways of Abu Dhabi to reveal special Mission: Impossible livery on one of the airline’s Boeing 787 Dreamliners. Prior to the party, the celebrity landed at Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH). The official airline of the much anticipated Mission: Impossible film series is Etihad Airways. On 26th June, the movie will have its Middle Eastern premiere at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental.
The second Mission: Impossible film to be shot in Abu Dhabi is this one. Mission: Impossible – Fallout’s HALO skydiving scene was filmed in Abu Dhabi in 2018 with assistance from the UAE military, the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, and twofour54.
The capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, is home to Abu Dhabi International Airport. After Dubai International Airport (DXB), it is the second-largest airport in the United Arab Emirates. Through its three terminals, the airport handles about 20 million people yearly. This year’s opening of the airport’s brand-new Midfield Terminal, which is situated between its two runways, is still pending.
In the upcoming Mission: Impossible film Dead Reckoning Part One, Midfield Terminal plays a leading role in its own right. One of the action scene’s most exciting locations is the landmark terminal building, which was created by the renowned international architecture company Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates. 762 actors, crew members, and suppliers were needed for the scenes that were shot at the Midfield Terminal during the course of 21 days of planning and 7 days of production.
Tom Cruise showed up at AUH Midfield Terminal to reveal a special livery on an Etihad Airways Boeing 787-9 that featured the movie’s theme. Mission: Impossible logo may be seen on the engines of the new livery. As it flies to locations all over the world, the aircraft will be decorated. On 13th July, the film will premiere in the United Arab Emirates.
The 315-meter-high terminal building was adorned to reflect its role in the film. In the film, the public will see the interior of the terminal building for the first time. In addition to the terminal, the film also includes scenes set in the breathtaking Liwa Desert and on purpose-built sets at the airport, such as an Etihad First Class Lounge. According to Elena Sorloni, acting CEO of Abu Dhabi Airports
“We are delighted to welcome Tom Cruise, the cast, and crew of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One back to Abu Dhabi. We’re proud of our role in the film and our contribution to Abu Dhabi as a destination that attracts global talent. The scenes showcased in the movie are a testament to the architecture, scale, and design of the iconic Midfield Terminal, which is inspired by the cultural elements of Abu Dhabi.”
The Abu Dhabi Emirate and Etihad Airways are renowned for coming up with inventive ways to highlight the emirate’s attractions. The emirate is eager to partner, whether it be for a movie release, Air Expo, or the Formula One GrandPrix. The Etihad Aviation Group’s Group Chief Executive Officer, Antonoaldo Neves, claims “Partnering with Mission: Impossible is a great testament to destination Abu Dhabi and what it has to offer. I couldn’t be prouder of Abu Dhabi and our team in showcasing the unique attractions of the emirate, our new airport, and Etihad in the movie.”
