The HONEYROSE Hotel, Montreal, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, the brand’s first location in Montreal, Canada, furthers the expansion of Tribute Portfolio, which is one of Marriott Bonvoy’s exceptional portfolio of 31 hotel brands.
The HONEYROSE Hotel in Montreal, which is situated in the neighbourhood known as Le Quartier des Spectacles, transports visitors back in time with its antique, art-deco-inspired decor. To carry out its design idea, the picturesque hotel enlisted the help of three Canadian partners. In order to maximise natural light, the building was designed by Architex Group with large bay windows. Provencher Roy was tasked with the architecture and interior design of the rooms, suites and hallways on each floor as well as the banquet and meeting rooms, and Atelier Zébulon Perron was in charge of the hotel’s lobby, restaurant and café. Impressive modern interiors embellished with art deco touches of velvet, gold, and wood elements offer all these locations a comforting cosiness.
Honey, a symbol of a golden gift from nature, and roses, a French flower that connotes passion and love, are at the centre of the hotel’s alluring décor. With pleasant service, sophisticated décor, and distinctive features like the hotel’s own rooftop beehives, the two aspects work together to create an enchanted experience that awakens the senses. With vibrant flowery textiles decorating the interiors, the corridors of the embellished guest rooms resemble walking through a specially made flower field.
From early morning to late drinks, the hotel offers a variety of locally sourced gastronomic experiences. These include the French bistro-style COMMODORE restaurant and café, the California-inspired Muze Lounge & Terrasse, Julia’s Workshop, an indoor and outdoor private dining area, and the Chef’s Table for exclusive, intimate events.
Each room is given a shock of personality by a variety of local artists in an arresting, visual way. The walls of the guest rooms are decorated with paintings by Montreal artist Roxy Peroxyde, while the Muze Lounge & Terrasse features original works by set designer Juliette Sarrazin. An eye-catching hallway carpet with distinctive illustrations was produced by the Eastern Townships-based design company CHACHA.
The hotel’s movement studio offers free sessions from the dynamic stretch workout Essentrics, developed by renowned Canadian fitness expert and former National Ballet of Canada ballerina Miranda Esmonde-White. On the hotel’s 15th level, guests can relax in the dry sauna, spa, and indoor pool while taking in views of Montreal’s skyline.
Located in the foyer, the HONEYROSE store offers a variety of products with an art deco influence and unique antique finds. Fresh flowers and everlasting roses will be sold at a distinctive second boutique on the mezzanine in collaboration with the Montreal-based business MFLEURS. The hotel has five meeting rooms totaling over 7,000 square feet for parties and gatherings, including a ballroom with space for over 300 guests and breathtaking views of the Place des Festivals.
