After two seasons of being denied access to the Alps, British skiers have been given a lifeline with confirmation that newcomers transiting Switzerland but spending less than 24 hours in the nation will not be subject to the country’s new 10-day quarantine rule.
While it casts doubt on Switzerland’s ski season, with Inghams announcing today (30th November) that it has halted all December departures from the country, skiers going to neighboring France and Italy would not be required to quarantine, according to the Foreign Office (FCDO).
The FCDO said, “There is no quarantine requirement for travellers arriving in Switzerland from the UK who wish to travel onward to another country, as long as travel through Switzerland is less than 24 hours and does not involve a stopover.”
“There is no quarantine requirement for those in transit airside at the airport,” it further confirmed.
