The Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe will soon house a riverside wildlife reserve and spa complex, according to Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas.
The Six Senses Victoria Falls is expected to open in 2025 and will be located in front of Princess Elizabeth Island on the approach to the biggest waterfall in the world.
To ensure the “lightest possible footprint” on the environment, the property will include a number of stilted wooden buildings connected by elevated walkways and bridges.
In addition to 17 unique pool villas, nine of which have multiple bedrooms, the resort will have 22 lodges with private terraces, 15 deluxe lodges with suspended pools, and 22 lodges with private terraces.
The partially hidden, tree-level lodges and villas, according to Six Senses, would be “ecological, haptic, and modest” to offer a “bird’s-eye platform” to the nearby wildlife and nature.
Before being taken to the lounge lobby, where amenities including an elevated restaurant and lounge, specialty dining, a braai bar, and a sunset look-out bar are available, visitors enter the property through the welcome pavilion.
Four treatment rooms, a gym, a yoga deck, outdoor hot tubs, a panoramic sauna, and an integrated retail and concept shop will all be available at the Six Senses spa and wellness amenities. Additionally, there will be a real-life “jungle” gym where visitors will be escorted by a ranger.
The Alchemy Bar, an Earth Lab, and children’s activities under the Grow With Six Senses brand are additional on-site unique experiences.
Six Senses Victoria Falls is a component of The House of Chinhara initiative, which seeks to revive Zimbabwean tourism by increasing the quantity and caliber of the area’s lodging options as well as offering host lodging facilities and possibilities for hospitality training.
Five separate falls make up Victoria Falls, four of which are in Zimbabwe. Elephants, hippos, buffalo, large cats, and primates can all be found in the area.
