From Tuesday, 22nd February, Covid testing for UK visitors traveling in Singapore via a Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) will be eased.
Rather than undergoing a PCR test when they arrive at the airport, fully vaccinated travelers who enter through the VTL scheme will be requested to perform an antigen test within 24 hours of their arrival.
Additionally, for fully vaccinated arrivals on VTL flights, the present requirement for antigen tests after days two and seven will be waived.
Singapore’s Ministry of Health has announced that new entrance restrictions would take effect on Monday, 21st February at 23:59 local time.
Singapore’s VTL flights operate from 24 countries, including the United Kingdom and its royal territories. Without prior authorization, only Singapore citizens and permanent residents are permitted to enter the country.
Singapore will lessen the requirement that VTL newcomers have only visited other VTL nations in the previous 14 days to seven days.
Singapore plans to “progressively offer VTLs with more destinations as we strive towards facilitating fully vaccinated travel,” according to the government. There will be a new VTL with Hong Kong, as well as VTLs with Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates that were previously postponed (UAE).
With the inauguration of VTL (Marine) between Bintan and Batam, quarantine-free sea travel between Singapore and Indonesia will be resumed. The first ferry trip will take place on 25th February, and applications will open on 22nd February.
The Singapore Tourism Board’s area director for northern and southern Europe, Michael Rodriguez, said: “As travellers from the UK are now booking holidays again, we are pleased to share this latest update and hope this will encourage visitors to book their next holiday to Singapore where they can enjoy quarantine-free travel and reimagined experiences with safety in mind.”
The VTL scheme requires all visitors to Singapore to fly on designated VTL aircraft. They can take an authorized VTL flight into Singapore after transiting through another VTL nation.
Vaccinated Travel Pass (VTP) requests must be submitted between three and 60 days ahead of the desired date of entrance into Singapore.
