The public spaces on board Silversea Cruises’ brand-new ship Silver Nova have been fully described, including what the company claims to be the most extensive selection of bars, lounges, and restaurants of any ultra-luxury cruise ship.
When she debuts in August 2023, the 728-guest Silver Nova will provide ten bars and lounges, eight unique restaurants, and a variety of other public venues.
Guests will benefit from an asymmetrical architecture and a horizontal arrangement, which will heighten the ship’s sense of spaciousness and enable a seamless flow between venues across full decks, according to Silversea. This will be a first for the top ultra-luxury cruise line.
Barbara Muckermann, President and CEO, Silversea Cruises said: “In addition to her pioneering sustainability credentials, Silver Nova will unlock a new luxury experience for our guests, offering an industry-leading variety of bars, lounges, and restaurants with an entirely new design approach for Silversea. Silver Nova represents a milestone in our strategy to build the perfect ship for every itinerary, with her array of venues enhancing the guest experience to a new level. Pushing boundaries in ultra-luxury travel, she will enrich the social aspect of cruising to unprecedented levels, fostering the strong sense of community that is core to life on board each Silversea ship. Her openness to the destinations she visits will offer guests a new way of connecting with the world.”
The ship’s horizontal layout, according to the business, enables a greater connection between environments, resulting in an improved guest experience that flows throughout the ship and changes with each venue depending on the time of day. The public areas of Silver Nova include:
The Dolce Vita lounge, a pre- and post-dinner drinking spot that has become synonymous with Silversea and can accommodate up to 120 guests, will serve as the center of the Silver Nova. It is located on deck five. Dolce Vita, which is open from early in the morning until late at night, will offer a classy atmosphere throughout the day, inviting customers for leisurely refreshments and enrichment activities, before changing into a refined piano bar at night. The 370.5m2 (3,988ft2) facility will have a main bar in the center and a performance area in addition to plenty of seating.
The Silver Nova’s two-story Venetian Lounge, which has a 190m2 upper tier and a 550m2 bottom level, can accommodate 370 guests on decks four and five (2,045ft2). The Venetian Lounge, which houses Silver Nova’s enrichment and entertainment offerings, will hold daytime educational lectures and seminars in addition to live theatrical and musical performances, movie screenings, and events. Modern audiovisual equipment will be used throughout the space, including a huge HD screen, cabaret-style seating with small tables, and balconies for a more personal viewing experience.
The Shelter, a brand-new location for Silversea, will be a refined evening-only bar with space for 32 guests in a stylish 131m2 environment (1,410ft2). The Shelter, located on deck three next to Atlantide and S.A.L.T.® Kitchen, will be open to guests for pre-dinner aperitifs and post-dinner beverages. The exquisite interiors of the venue will use a neutral color scheme and appropriate lighting. The Shelter’s eye-catching bar will include a wraparound bottle display with integrated lighting strips for a contemporary look. The Shelter will provide visitors with entertainment while forming a seamless connection with Silver Nova’s other nightlife spots.
With a capacity of 35 and a new design that includes a larger, contemporary interior space with floor to ceiling windows and a huge outside area, Silver Nova’s 61.5m2 (662ft2) Connoisseur’s Corner on deck five will benefit from offering visitors a selection of quality cigars and alcoholic beverages. The Connoisseur’s Corner will have the exclusive appearance and feel of a private member’s club thanks to plush Chesterfield chairs.
The Observation Lounge, located on deck 10, will give visitors a vantage point from the top of Silver Nova, with floor to ceiling windows and a tranquil color scheme that is inspired by the sea. It will provide guests with magnificent, 270-degree views over the destination. The space, which has been expanded to 256.5m2 (2,761ft2), can hold up to 115 visitors from early in the morning until late at night. The Silver Nova’s library will be located in the lounge, providing guests with a secluded area to unwind with a book.
The Panorama Lounge on Silver Nova’s deck five is 547m2 (5,888ft2) and can hold up to 190 passengers. It is a calm lounge by day and a busy bar at night. Large outdoor space with 270-degree views of the destination is accessible through 221m2 (2,379ft2) of windows that surround the interior of the room. In comparison to Silversea’s Muse-class ships, Silver Nova’s Panorama Lounge will have a new layout, as well as a new style and color scheme.
When compared to Silversea’s previous class of ships, the S.A.L.T. Bar will benefit from a prime location on the Silver Nova, having been moved to deck 10. The evening venue will be more roomy than ever, with a 42-person capacity and a 170.8m2 (1,838.5ft2) area, and enhanced with a larger bar area, as well as far-reaching vistas from floor-to-ceiling windows and a new outdoor area. The S.A.L.T. Bar will serve cocktails with regional inspiration in a cozy, sophisticated setting with a dark color scheme and plush recliners for a cozy ambiance.
The S.A.L.T. Lab will be significantly improved aboard Silver Nova with a new layout, increased to roughly 112.4m2 (1,209.9ft2) and accommodating 28 visitors. It will also be moved to deck 10 for a prime view of the destination and with a new outdoor space. The test kitchen will give visitors the chance to learn more about each place they’ve been via the lens of food and drink. Guests will have the chance to work directly with regional products while being guided by S.A.L.T. Host Silver Nova and local cuisine experts. The S.A.L.T. Lab on Silver Nova will include cooking stations and a larger, redesigned central workstation—at which participating guests will be able to sit and watch demonstrations. It will have the same light, elegant interior decor as on prior ships.
Compared to Silver DawnSM, the Otium Spa will be moved and given a more roomy internal location on deck five, toward Silver Nova’s bow. The 338m2 (3,638.2ft2) facility, which will be open all day as the headquarters of Silversea’s Roman-inspired Otium wellness program, will include an indoor pool, a spa with eight treatment rooms and a peaceful relaxation area, a fitness center, and a beauty salon. The Otium Spa’s open, welcoming atmosphere will be influenced by the style of the ancient Roman baths, and visitors’ wellness journeys will flow naturally across adjoining spaces. With a steam room, sauna, and pool as well as a travertine water fountain and floor to ceiling windows, the thermal area will be bigger than before. An exquisite, tranquil atmosphere will be produced by soft lighting and natural stones, some of which may even include red marble hints.
