When Shinta Mani Mustang – A Bensley Collection luxury lodge debuts in Nepal in March 2023, Shinta Mani Hotels will debut its first establishment outside of Cambodia.
The 29 suites each offer 45 square meters of space and are fashioned in the manner of a typical Tibetan home, with an open-plan bedroom paired with a sitting area and a separate bathroom. Views of the adjacent Nilgiri mountain can be seen from floor-to-ceiling windows.
The 60-seat Nilgiri Restaurant and a sizable outdoor dining patio are available for eating options. Both will serve modern Nepalese and western cuisine made with foraged and locally sourced ingredients. The unusual local Tibetan and Sherpa liquor inspired the name of the Aara Bar.
Additionally, there is an activity area that may be utilized for conferences, lectures, yoga, and exercise programs.
The Wellness Center features two treatment rooms, each having a hot plunge pool, steam room, sauna, shower, and two massage beds, and both have floor-to-ceiling windows that look out at the mountains. An 11th-generation Tibetan Amchi physician in the area is creating the Tibetan health program utilizing conventional herbal therapy.
Visitors are welcome to participate in activities like hiking, horseback riding, rock climbing, cycling, and helicopter tours.
Bill Bensley, a co-owner of Shinta Mani Hotels and an American designer, is in charge of the interiors, which have a warm color scheme and distinctive furnishings constructed from recycled materials.
Bensley said, “This is perhaps one of the most exciting projects we have ever had. I have never seen such wildly dramatic landscapes as the mountains and valleys of Mustang, and am thrilled that Shinta Mani can be the first to introduce this Forbidden Kingdom to international adventurers – and all the more so under the special wing of the Bensley Collection.”
