RwandAir’s first nonstop flight from Kigali to London touched down at Heathrow on Monday, 7th November.
For five years, the airline has run flights from Brussels to London. To meet demand, a new non-stop Airbus A330 flight has been launched.
Four times every week, on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, flights depart from Heathrow for the Rwandan capital; economy class tickets start at £636 and business class tickets cost £2,299, respectively.
The airline began flying from Gatwick and has been connecting through Brussels since May 2017 to provide service between London and Kigali.
2020 saw the relocation of flights to Heathrow in an effort to facilitate better traveler connections.
Simon Rickman, the UK country manager, said: “The UK is an incredibly important market for RwandAir as we know these new non-stop services will prove very popular with our customers, who will highly value our shorter journey times and increased connections to onward destinations across Africa.”
Heathrow chief commercial officer Ross Baker added:“We are delighted to see RwandAir expand their operations by launching a new non-stop route linking London and Kigali through Heathrow, the UK’s hub airport.
“It is fantastic that demand for travel is increasing again, boosting connectivity for passengers and cargo.”
