A new announcement from Royal Caribbean International reveals that Wonder of the Seas will sail in the Mediterranean the next summer.
It will depart from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, on 4th March 2022, and cruise to the Caribbean, before traveling to Barcelona and Rome in May for the summer season.
Seeing a “substantial rise” in bookings from Europe and the United Kingdom, the cruise line is bringing an Oasis Class ship to satisfy demand.
As of today, you may book the Caribbean sailings on Royal Caribbean’s website; European sailings will be accessible on 22nd September, according to a press release.
As in 2022, the Allure of the Seas Mediterranean itineraries will be replaced by the Wonder of the Seas Mediterranean itineraries.
On Wednesday, 15th September, Allure will begin sailing from Fort Lauderdale on six- and eight-night Caribbean itineraries.
When Allure’s Mediterranean sailings in 2022 come to an end, passengers booked on Allure will be automatically rebooked to cruise on Wonder. Passengers and travel partners who are affected will be notified with additional information.
Royal Caribbean International’s president and CEO, Michael Bayley, said: “The momentum taking off across bookings and our returning ships in the US and Europe is significant.
“With half of our fleet sailing again, we are encouraged by what we’re seeing. These regions are in the position to welcome a brand-new, innovative ship like Wonder of the Seas.”
The seven-night Caribbean sailings from Fort Lauderdale will visit destinations such as Cozumel, Mexico; Philipsburg, St Maarten; and San Juan, Puerto Rico – as well as Royal Caribbean’s private island destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Its inaugural European season will start in May with seven-night cruises from Barcelona and Rome.
The ship has a capacity for 6,000 passengers and new features include the Suite Neighborhood; a cantilevered pool bar named The Vue; and Wonder Playscape – an interactive, open-air kids’ play area.
As with other Oasis Class ships, it also offers the tallest slide at sea, The Ultimate Abyss; the FlowRider surf simulator; twin rock-climbing walls; and the 10-deck-high zip line.
The vessel is the fifth in the line’s Oasis Class and was originally scheduled to enter service from Shanghai next March.
