More than a year before it begins operations, reservations for the brand-new megaship Icon of the Seas from Royal Caribbean International are now open.
Beginning in January 2024, the 7,600-passenger ship will be stationed in Miami and operate seven-night Caribbean cruises.
Every voyage will stop at Perfect Day at CocoCay, a private island owned by Royal Caribbean in The Bahamas, as well as a number of other locations, including Cozumel, Mexico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; and Roatan, Honduras.
The ship has 28 different room types, including 14 brand-new categories that are geared toward families and multigenerational groups.
There will be an eco-mode in each room or suite that activates when guests depart. When they go back on board, the feature will be turned off, ensuring that the preferred temperature settings are reinstated.
Many on board elements have been described, but more will, per the line, be made public in the upcoming months.
