Regent Hotels & Resorts has announced a spring 2022 debut on Vietnam’s Phu Quoc Island, the brand’s first new resort since being acquired by IHG in 2018.
The Regent Phu Quoc will have 176 suites and 126 villas, all of which will be located on a private beachfront in Long Beach and will feature “sanctuary-like rooms” and floor-to-ceiling windows with sunset views.
Rice Market, a traditional Vietnamese and Chinese restaurant; Oku, a French-Japanese fusion restaurant; Bar Jade, an experimental cocktail bar; and Ocean Club, serving laid-back beach snacks, will be among the dining options.
A spa with multiple treatment rooms and pools, as well as rooftop and outdoor yoga pavilions, will be available at the resort. It will cater to both families and couples, having a children’s club for youngsters aged four to twelve.
Guests will also be encouraged to explore the surrounding island of Phu Quoc, which has 28 beaches, including mountain climbs and trips to nearby fishing communities and pepper farms.
General manager Juan Losada said: “It has been an honour to witness this vibrant country go from strength to strength over the years and particularly in the growing sector of luxury tourism.
“Vietnamese hospitality has a reputation that precedes it and is renowned around the world. Strangers are greeted as family, and we work to keep that natural spirit in the Regent Phu Quoc experience.”
