Rafael Nadal to Open a New Hotel in Majorca with Melia Hotels

Rafael Nadal, a world-class tennis player, has partnered with Melia Hotels International to develop a new hotel brand. His first property will debut in Majorca in 2023.

Within five years, more than 20 hotels under the new lifestyle hotel brand ZEL will open across Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and America after its launch in Spain. The brand originally plans to expand in capital cities including Madrid, Paris, and London as well as in locations around the Mediterranean coast.

According to a spokeswoman, the growth strategy will concentrate on “bleisure” properties in the major geographic areas where Melia operates and on vacation spots that draw high-end leisure travelers.

Properties will put an emphasis on wellness experiences while emphasizing the outdoors, food, architecture, and design. The first Majorcan hotel will contain a central courtyard that connects to various sections including patios, rooftop areas, and beach clubs. Additionally, it will host a variety of “pop-up corners” with partner firms that will include handicrafts, beauty products, or product samples.
