Quantum of the Seas will continue to sail from Singapore until October 2021, according to Royal Caribbean International.
In December 2020, the ship resumed service departing from Singapore with two, three, and four-night ‘Ocean Getaways’.
Royal Caribbean extended the season for three months until June 2021 following a successful period. The line is now extending the sailings for another four months as a result of its partnership agreement with the government of Singapore.
At 11 months, this will be the longest Singapore season to date for one of Asia’s biggest cruise ships.
Sailings meet the Singapore government’s health and safety specifications as a result of the cruise line’s CruiseSafe Certification.
Royal Caribbean International’s president and chief executive, Michael Bayley, said: “We have continued to see an overwhelming demand in Singapore to sail on board Quantum of the Seas. With more than 50,000 guests having cruised with us and zero positive Covid-19 cases to date, holidaymakers can rest assured we are focused on delivering safe, memorable cruise holidays.
“Royal Caribbean’s 30-plus sailings in Singapore offer a real-life, validated model of how cruising can be a unique, safe vacation beyond what many other travel options can offer.
“I’m confident we’ll continue to see how successful cruising can be through a combination of our proven, healthy and safe practices, which are informed by the Healthy Sail Panel’s 74 recommendations, and the rollout of vaccines around the world.”
“When we began pilot cruises in Singapore, our aim was to regain the trust of guests by endorsing cruise operators with stringent hygiene measures,” Annie Chang, cruise director at the Singapore Tourism Board, said.
“Thus far, we have completed more than 90 sailings with over 120,000 passengers and no reported cases of Covid-19 spreading on board.”
Singapore residents will be able to book these new sailings from 13th April 2021.
Covid-19 testing, reduced sailing ability, physical distancing measures, and improved cleaning and sanitising procedures are among the health and safety measures.Royal Caribbean Group has transported over 100,000 passengers on 152 cruises in Asia and Europe since July 2020.
Odyssey of the Seas will sail from Haifa, Israel; Jewel of the Seas from Cyprus; Anthem of the Seas from the United Kingdom; and Adventure of the Seas and Vision of the Seas will sail from The Bahamas and Bermuda, respectively.
