Qatar Airways Opens Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort

Northeast of Doha’s new premier kitesports destination, Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort, was officially opened by Qatar Airways. H.E. gave the beach resort its official opening. Minister of Environment and Climate Change Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser bin Ali Al Thani and H.E. Mr. Akbar Al Baker, Chairman of Qatar Tourism and Chief Executive Officer of Qatar Airways Group. For an evening of tours and festivities to promote the premium characteristics of Fuwairit, the event invited a number of VIP guests, elite kitesurfing champions, and journalists, establishing yet another sports destination for tourists from all over the world.

Along with excellent weather and lovely sandy beaches, the resort offers a number of areas for unwinding, including a pool, yoga pavilion, padel courts, an outdoor theater, and a cutting-edge gym. The resort has 50 rooms in total, 40 of which are beachfront, allowing guests to take in the peace and quiet of the natural lagoon.

The resort is a member of the Tapestry Collection by Hilton and focuses on giving visitors a distinctive look and lively personality to accurately reflect the vivacity of the kitesurfing community and stunning location. The specialized Kitesurf Center will be run by Discover Qatar, Qatar Airways’ destination management organization. The Discover Qatar website offers package choices that include lodging, kitesurfing instruction, day tickets with equipment rental, and much more.

As part of the resort’s dedication to protecting the ecosystem around it, the dignitaries were given the chance to release hawksbill turtles at the opening ceremony along the beautiful shoreline.

The Fuwairit Kite Beach Resort will accept reservations beginning on October 17, 2022. A group of seasoned and globally certified instructors will be on hand at the resort to teach kitesurfing instruction to individuals looking to master one of the most thrilling sports. The first kitesurfing spot in Qatar is especially well adapted for the activity, with calm, shallow waters giving beginners the ideal learning environment and allowing experts to push their boundaries and develop new skills. Kitesports are one of the most exciting and rapidly expanding new sports.

The Global Kitesports Association (GKA) Kite World Tour and Qatar Airways established a new long-term relationship in May 2022. Qatar Airways will serve as the World Tour’s Title Partner and Official Airline through 2024. The two organizations will host the GKA World Tour stops at the new beach resort in 2023 and 2024 along with Qatar Tourism, the Official Tourism Partner of the Kite World Tour.
