Portsmouth cruises unveiled by Viking cruises

Viking will operate three itineraries this summer exclusively for UK residents from Portsmouth. The itineraries represent a “limited restart” in operations. The three sailings will be operated with a “full-scale laboratory” on board that will enable guests and crew to receive daily PCR tests.

Viking Venus which is due to be delivered next month will sail an eight-day itinerary entitled “England’s Scenic Shores voyage”. The ship will depart on 22nd and 29th May as well as on 5th June. These itineraries will only be available to “loyal past guests”. Details on how to book the cruise are yet to be announced.

Viking joins Cunard, Hurtigruten, P&O and Princess cruises with sailings departing from the UK for the domestic market.

All Viking ships have been fitted with new air purification technology. The cruise line has implemented a number of mitigation measures including health checks, social distancing and sanitisation.
