P&O Cruises’ Ventura to Feature Top UK Athletes and Explorers

Next year, two themed trips aboard P&O Cruises’ Ventura will feature top UK athletes and explorers.

Both “P&O Cruises Presents: Sail with the stars” sailings will be run by the ship in September 2023.

The three members of the broadcasting team Sue Barker, Matt Dawson, and Phil Tufnell, who have all competed at the highest levels of international sport, will go to Spain and Portugal for seven nights beginning on 2nd September 2023.

Before winning the French Open at the age of 19, Barker won the Junior Wimbledon. She then hosted the BBC’s Wimbledon coverage from 1993 until her retirement in 2022.

ITV’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here was won by former England cricketer Tufnell.

Former rugby player Dawson made 77 appearances for England and was twice chosen to go with the British and Irish Lions.

During their time working together on the BBC’s Question of Sport program, the three became recognizable faces.

The cost of a round-trip cruise including stops in Cherbourg, France; Vigo, Spain; Lisbon, Portugal; and Leixoes, Portugal, begins at $629.

Ben Fogle, an adventurer and TV host, Simon Calder, a travel writer, and Monty Halls, a marine biologist best known for his work on the BBC Great Escape series, will all board the five-night Global Explorers vessel.

Le Havre and Rotterdam are the ports of call during the round-trip voyage from Southampton. Starting at £549, the cruise on September 19 is priced.
