According to Reuters, Oman Air expressed interest in joining Oneworld. The airline has reportedly asked Qatar Airways for assistance. If they did, it would be fantastic news because they occasionally offer extremely low flights to the Far East, and their business class product, in my opinion, is virtually on par with Qatar’s.
They presently have a modest route network, but joining Oneworld might potentially help them expand.
“As the industry recovers from COVID, airline alliances are going to be more important than ever,” the airline said in a statement to Reuters. “This will provide us with excellent global connectivity, a seamless travel experience and more valuable loyalty offerings for our guests.”
Joining Oneworld can take up to a year, but they also have Connect partners that require less examination and can complete the process faster. Although, unlike full member airlines, Connect partners do not provide the same level of status privileges.
