Oman Air Joins Oneworld Alliance

Oman Air will be joining the oneworld® Alliance in 2024.  Following its integration into Oneworld, it will offer all Oneworld benefits to customers who fly on its flights. Sindbad members will be able to earn and redeem miles on all Oneworld member airlines, with top-tier members receiving additional benefits such as lounge access when traveling with other Oneworld members.

Oman Air’s entry into Oneworld will provide customers planning global travel across the alliance’s members with even more flights and destinations, making Oneworld the only global airline alliance with three members in the Middle East after Qatar Airways and Royal Jordanian. With Oman Air’s addition, the Oneworld network will gain new destinations such as Duqm and Khasab in Oman and Chittagong in Bangladesh (Bangladesh). Customers in the Oneworld Emerald, Oneworld Sapphire, and premium cabins will also have access to three Oman Air lounges in Muscat, Salalah, and Bangkok.

Oman Air, founded in 1993, is the Sultanate of Oman’s national airline. It has evolved into an international carrier, serving 41 destinations in over 20 countries. It has a modern fleet of over 40 aircraft, including Boeing 737s, 787s, and A330s. Oman Air’s aircraft, which are configured in two or three classes, offer exclusive First Class Private Suites on longer-haul flights.

Several awards have been bestowed upon the airline, most recently the APEX Passenger Choice Award for Best Seat Comfort in the Middle East.

Oman Air serves five Oneworld member airline hubs: Amman, Colombo, Doha, Kuala Lumpur, and London Heathrow, and already codeshares with four: Malaysia Airlines, Qatar Airways, Royal Jordanian, and SriLankan Airlines. Tanzania, Nairobi, Singapore, Bangkok, Kathmandu, and most major airports in India and the UAE may also be of interest.

Oman Air will be the alliance’s third new member in five years. In April 2020, Royal Air Maroc became oneworld’s first full member on the African continent. Alaska Airlines will follow in March 2021.
