As instances in the nation continue to grow, Norwegian Cruise Line has reinstated Covid-19 testing for all travelers who have visited mainland China 10 days prior to embarking.
The decision was made in response to mounting worries about the virus in China and recently enacted travel restrictions by nations including the US and the UK.
Guests visiting Hong Kong, Macau, or mainland China within 10 days of embarkation must provide documentation of a negative PCR test conducted under medical supervision within 48 hours of departure to the port between 5th January and 31st January.
This also applies to travelers who pass through one of the airports during the ten days prior to embarkation.
Additionally, prior to boarding the ship, passengers must undergo a medically supervised PCR test. They must then test onboard the ship every 48 hours until 10 days have passed since their previous visit to China, Hong Kong, or Macau.
Prior to boarding, passengers must also receive a booster dose of a vaccine that has been approved by the World Health Organization.
