The three-year absence by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) will end on 19th October. As part of a six-month Asia season, Norwegian Jewel will sail from nine different ports, including Tokyo, Yokohama, Taipei, Bangkok, Bali, and Kuala Lumpur, on 16 itineraries that will stop in 11 different countries.
The 10- to 14-day voyages include a number of “brand firsts,” such as NCL’s first departures from Seoul and Manila, the Philippines, as well as six new ports of call: Manila, Boracay, Palawan, Salomague, Bintan Island, and Hualien County.
According to the statement, Norwegian Jewel will emphasize “destination immersion” and provide “country immersive” itineraries, enabling passengers to bookend their cruises with land visits.
The itineraries, which include overnight breaks in places like Phuket, Osaka, and Bali, often feature no more than two sea days per voyage.
From Kuala Lumpur to Bali, an 11-day cruise called Asia: Singapore, Thailand & Indonesia departs, stopping in Langkawi, Sabang, Penang, Singapore, Jakarta, and Lembar, as well as an overnight in Phuket.
Considering a departure on 27th January 2024, the lead-in fee is £2,371.
The company’s inaugural itinerary, Asia: Osaka, Jeju, Nagoya & Mount Fuji, departs from Seoul and stops at Jeju, Nagasaki, Beppu, Kyoto, Hiroshima, Kochi, Nagoya, and Mount Fuji before ending in Tokyo.
Based on a journey on 21st March 2024, prices start at £3,360.
Director of sales for the UK and Ireland, Gary Anslow, stated: “After more than three years, Asia is back in a big way.
“We know our guests can’t wait to return to this incredible region and, as a smaller ship, Norwegian Jewel is the perfect size to explore Asia’s lesser-known ports while offering all the features we know local cruisers love, including the hit disco and burlesque show Velvet.”
