Niceair, a new Icelandic airline, will operate its first UK service from Stansted on 3rd June, followed by a Manchester route.
On Mondays and Fridays, the airline will fly from Akureyri in Iceland’s north, with return prices starting at £240.
Akureyri, Iceland’s northern capital, located 100 kilometers from the Arctic Circle.
Previously, the destination could only be reached by a five-hour drive or a domestic aircraft from Reykjavik. It provides a gentle adventure as well as geothermal springs.
Niceair also expects to start flying to Manchester in October at an unannounced time. On Wednesday (27th April), tickets for twice-weekly services will go on sale. Flights are aboard a 150-seat Airbus A319 with all-economy seating.
