The newest boutique hotel in the Arlo Hotels group, Arlo Chicago, held its formal grand opening. Executives from hotel partners Quadrum Global and Oxford Capital Group, as well as representatives from the City of Chicago and recognized tourism bodies like Choose Chicago and the Magnificent Mile Association, attended the celebration, which also featured a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Amir Setayesh, managing director of Quadrum Global, and John W. Rutledge, founder, and CEO of Oxford Capital Group, also spoke at the event.
Arlo Hotels’ 218-room Arlo Chicago is the company’s sixth hotel overall and its first in the Midwest. Arlo also owns the Arlo Midtown, Arlo SoHo, and Arlo NoMad in New York City, the Nautilus by Arlo in Miami Beach, and the recently launched Arlo Wynwood, the first hotel to ever be built in Miami’s Wynwood district.
At the grand opening, original works by Brooke Einbender (aka Mindbender Art), a trailblazing figure in the “phygital” (physical + digital art) realm, were also unveiled. The brand standard for Arlo Chicago’s elevators, which will be used by all Arlo properties, inspired the creation of the new parts.
The event also featured sweet delicacies from the Museum of Ice Cream and small snacks from Yum Dum Truck. The foyer of the hotel had the trademark Post-it board of Arlo Hotels, where visitors could write messages and well wishes for fellow tourists. DJ Drew Jensen kept the crowd amused, while a Michael Jackson impersonator surprised everyone with a special appearance.
The Arlo Chicago Hotel is positioned in the center of Chicago, close to the famous Millennium Park. The hotel embodies the Magnificent Mile’s fashionable sophistication, the Cultural Mile’s artistic refinement, and the Loop’s shrewd street smarts, fostering a sense of a cohesive neighborhood. Arlo Chicago brilliantly portrays the incomparable excitement of the Windy City thanks to its unbeatable location and thriving nightlife. It also puts visitors in close proximity to a number of well-liked sites, including Navy Pier, the Chicago Riverwalk, Monroe Harbor, Grant Park music festivals, and many more.
Modern furnishings and convenient conveniences are featured in the guest rooms, which give the historic 1916 Atlantic Bank building a fresh perspective on its past. The on-site restaurant at Arlo Chicago, About Last Knife, combines a gastropub’s inventiveness with a steakhouse’s sensitivities to give a creative take on American food. Before or after trips to neighboring sights, it serves as an excellent place to refuel or rest.
