New Delta Air Lines Sky Club to Debut at Kansas City International Airport

On Tuesday, a brand-new Delta Air Lines Sky Club will debut at Kansas City International Airport’s eagerly awaited new terminal. The new club is 11,200 square feet large and can accommodate 200 people.

Delta Air Lines, an airline located in Atlanta, has made considerable investments recently to improve the traveler experience both in airports and onboard aircraft. The airline recently completed a new SkyClub at Chicago O’Hare International Airport, a $4 billion terminal at New York City’s LaGuardia Airport, and several other projects. It also recently announced that free WiFi would soon be available on every planes.

In the new $1.5 billion terminal in Kansas City, which will open on Tuesday, Delta presented its new SkyClub today. The new terminal has a meditation area, a multi-sensory room, and a place where you may simulate flying an airplane as part of its all-inclusive design. The only airline with a lounge space in the new MCI terminal is Delta, which made sure to secure its fair share of space during the planning and construction phases of the terminal.

The new SkyClub in Kansas City is the first of eight that will open in 2023, and Delta attributed its ability to do so to the airport’s design and its connection to the “City of Fountains.” A full buffet, a curated art program involving local artists, restrooms filled with high-end Grown Alchemist products, and a premium bar are all features of the 11,200 square foot club.

The new lounge has two elements that are very appealing to avgeeks. With breathtaking airport views and the ability to be used in all weather, Delta has constructed two SkyDecks.

Delta is to open seven more clubs by the end of the year, including a third one at its hub at Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport.

As noted above, Delta aims to open numerous new clubs by the end of the year. The first is the 21,000-square-foot G concourse club at MSP, which can accommodate 450 people. There will be a Sky Deck in the new MSP lounge as well.

A new club is being built in T4 by Delta as part of an operating adjustment at JFK’s airport, and it will debut in June. There will be seating for more than 200 people in the 14,000 square foot new club at JFK.

At Florida’s Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, the present Sky Club will expand by 2,000 square feet and 90 seats in September. Delta’s Club at Miami International Airport is expanding significantly and is not too distant from Fort Lauderdale. The club will have about 12,000 square feet of space and 320 guest seats when it is finished.

A huge lounge, about 21,000 square feet in size, is being built for Boston Logan International Airport and is scheduled to debut in the late summer. Delta is relocating its operations in Newark and moving its Sky Club in addition to moving terminals at JFK. Finally, the club at Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is undergoing renovation and will reopen this winter with more than 18,000 square feet.
