With the launch of Mercure Miri City Centre, a chic and contemporary hotel that combines worldwide hospitality with a design concept that accentuates the natural beauty of Borneo, Accor, a global leader in the hospitality industry, has increased its portfolio in Malaysia.
The second largest city in the state of Sarawak, Miri draws both business and leisure travelers as the entryway to ecological wonders including Gunung Mulu National Park and the Niah Caves. Mercure Miri City Centre reflects the region’s vibrant culture with a collection of curated artworks that highlight the region’s abundant flora and fauna as well as Sarawak’s 32 ethnic groups. The hotel is surrounded by local attractions, government buildings, shopping centers, and a heritage center. Authentic crafts, vibrant colors, and furnishings with a natural theme accompany visitors on their journey.
The Mercure Miri City Centre will also develop into a gathering place for travelers from around the world to socialize, eat, and unwind. While Atoti is a laid-back café and gelato parlor that specializes in signature delicacies like house-made gelato produced using traditional Italian recipes, Belian is a bustling all-day dining restaurant with a multi-cuisine concept and a setting that changes throughout the day to create a new atmosphere. Cavakita is certain to replace other locations in Miri when the day gives way to night and the sun sets over the ocean. This rooftop restaurant and bar with Asian and Latin American décor offers chargrilled meats and fresh seafood along with locally sourced drinks.
Cavakita will be a well-liked hangout for both hotel guests and tourists because of its cutting-edge theme and breathtaking vistas. During their stay, visitors can take a dip in the vibrantly decorated rooftop infinity pool to chill down or work out at the fitness center.
The 172 tastefully furnished rooms include everything guests may possibly need to be productive, including complementary tea and coffee, a 55-inch TV, high-speed Wi-Fi, and comfy king or twin mattresses. Partially sea views are available from two floors of the Mercure Prestige Rooms, which also have premium features including coffee makers. In order to enjoy additional luxuries like a larger living room with a sofa set and a bathtub, guests can alternatively choose the Junior Suites or Deluxe Junior Suites that are larger.
Two dedicated floors of conference and banqueting facilities provide the backdrop for stunning events for business travelers and meeting organizers. Up to 200 delegates may be accommodated for major gatherings in the 292-square-meter, light-filled Terabai Grand Ballroom on Level 3A, which can also be divided in half.
The cutting-edge and fully-furnished Ruai Coworking Space, with stadium seating, private booths, and several styles of work stations, is excellent for the new generation of professionals who like to blur the lines between work and social interaction. It is located on a dedicated floor. Merbau I, Merbau II, and Ruai Gawa boardrooms, each with 12 executive chairs, are located here.
The Miri Airport, which provides direct connections to Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and destinations around Malaysia, is only a 10-minute drive from the Mercure Miri City Centre. Also, the distance to Brunei’s border is about 20 minutes.
In line with the company’s dedication to minimizing environmental effect and stepping up efforts to prevent plastic pollution, Mercure Miri City Centre is getting rid of all single-use plastics from all points of contact with guests throughout the entire hotel.
