More good news for Marriott customers who have been fighting to keep their status. Prior to this year, Marriott made it easier to achieve status by giving elite members a night credit equal to half of what is required to maintain status. They’ve taken it a step farther now. Whether you got your status in 2019 or 2020, the firm stated today that it would join Hilton in extending status for members until February 2023.
Your Elite status expiration should be extended in your account by December 2021. You can access their account by visiting Marriott.com or using the Marriott mobile app.
The expiration of Marriott Bonvoy® Points has been suspended until 31st December 2022, to give you plenty of time to redeem them (previously 31st March 2022). Only if your Marriott Bonvoy® Points have been inactive for at least 24 months will they expire at that time.
If you don’t choose the Suite Night Award as their yearly option benefit, FNAs are provided when you stay 50 nights or more in a year.
Members who hold a Free Night Award (FNA) that expires between 3rd January 2022 and 29th June 2022 as part of their co-brand credit card benefit, annual choice benefit, promotions, or travel package will be able to redeem it until 30th June 2022 by the end of December.
By December, Members who have Suite Night Awards™ previously set to expire on 31st December 2021 will see their Suite Night Awards™ expiration extended to 30th June 2022.
