Beginning on 1st October, Marella Cruises will discontinue all pre-departure testing.
The cruise line, which is a part of the Tui Group, declared it would abide by local customs wherever its ships sailed.
Currently, all cruise guests in Greece are required to undergo a medical examination at the port terminal before boarding a ship.
Therefore, the day before boarding the ship, travelers two years of age and older departing from Corfu must pass an antigen test.
When arriving at the ship to check in, passengers are required to present their test result certificate.
Cruise managing director for Tui, Chris Hackney, stated: “As always, our customers are our number one priority.
“The relaxation of these rules means our guests can enjoy a simpler process pre-travel, without having to spend any additional costs.”
He added: “We look forward to continuing to welcome both new and existing customers onboard our ships for our winter 2022 and summer 2023 itineraries.”
Marella Discovery, Marella Discovery 2, Marella Explorer, and Marella Explorer 2 are currently being operated by the all-inclusive line.
On 3rd June 2023, Marella Voyager is scheduled to join the fleet.
