In the winter of 2024–2025, Marella Cruises makes its first trip back to the Dominican Republic since 2017. For a series of winter Caribbean sailings for adults only, the Marella Explorer 2 will depart from La Romana on Christmas Eve 2024.
On 20th July, itineraries will be available for purchase that include stops in Grenada, Barbados, St. Lucia, St. Kitts, Dominica, Antigua, St. Maarten, Tortola, and Samana, the Dominican Republic’s newest port for the Tui UK and Ireland-owned line. Aruba, Bonaire, and Curacao are all included in a third route.
Additionally, the company will offer two quick itineraries for winter trips in the Mediterranean. On 9th December 2024, Marella Explorer will set sail from Malaga for Tenerife via Gibraltar and Casablanca, Morocco, with one sea day. On 2nd November of the following year, the line’s newest vessel, Marella Voyager, would sail from Palma, Majorca, stopping in at Alicante, Almeria, and Malaga. Six-night voyages departing from Malaga, Corfu Town, and Marmaris in Turkey are among the new winter itineraries.
Chris Hackney, managing director of Tui UK & Ireland Cruises, said: “We’re always looking for new ways to improve our customer offering, whether that’s new destinations, new itineraries, or ships.
“We’re therefore pleased to offer a new experience for guests with our new sailings departing from La Romana for winter 2024.
“Customers will be able to explore some of the most popular Caribbean islands throughout their time on board as well as the opportunity to take advantage of Marella’s cruise and stay offering, with the chance to enjoy a stay at one of the Tui hotels in the Dominican Republic, pre- or post-cruise.”
