Malta Eases on Covid Testing Rules for Children

Children aged under 12 will no longer need a PCR test to enter Malta from 6th June, it has been announced.

According to The Times of Malta, the island’s health minister Chris Fearne announced the lifting of limitations in the Maltese parliament.

Even after the significant limitations were eased, Fearne claimed the Covid situation has remained stable in recent weeks. Infection rates were declining, and hospitalization rates remained low.

Children under the age of 12 must currently pass a negative PCR test before being allowed to enter Malta. From June 6, this will no longer be the case, according to the ministry.

Additionally, childcare centers will no longer be subject to social distancing laws as of this date.
