M Social Suzhou: Millennium Hotels & Resorts Launches its First Premium Lifestyle Hotel in China

M Social Suzhou officially opened 26th April 2023, marking the daring and fashionable brand’s first venture into China. The first and foremost M Social-branded property in China, the 294-room premium lifestyle hotel, serves as a sign of future expansion in the Greater China region.

MHR’s (Millennium Hotels & Resorts) lifestyle brand, M Social, was created by the company’s executive chairman, Mr. Kwek Leng Beng, a seasoned real estate and hotel executive. To appeal to the young, “brave,” and tech-savvy users of social media, it was initially introduced in Singapore in 2016.

The company now has five physical sites, including M Social Suzhou, Singapore, Auckland, New York, and Paris. Additionally, MHR has a virtual hotel called M Social Decentraland, making it the first hospitality company in the entire world to enter the metaverse.

A China-Singapore cooperative high-tech park designed to promote innovation with developing, high-end companies, M Social Suzhou is situated in the center of Hong Leong City Center (HLCC) in the core region of Suzhou Industrial Park. The world-famous integrated development known as HLCC was created by CDL China, a division of MHR’s parent company, the global developer City Developments Limited (CDL).

In a prominent location by Jinji Lake, M Social Suzhou is close to Times Square, Jiu Guang Department Store, Eslite Spectrum, Ferris Wheel Park, and other commercial and shopping areas. The Suzhou International Expo Center and Suzhou Culture and Arts Centre are also close by.

The interiors of M Social Suzhou, built by renowned architect KCA International, are intended to encourage gathering and the sharing of experiences in a welcoming and informal setting.

The custom-made brass floor leads visitors to the elevator hallways with a flower path pattern inlay. A rich visual experience and a showcase for the hotel’s dynamic individuality are created by dynamic electronic art screens and shifting lighting effects on the digital art ceiling. The 25th floor sky lobby, with its open layout, cloud-pattern panels, a concrete-framed chandelier, and exposed metal grills, carries over the industrial chic design of the lower-level lobby.

All 294 of the hotel’s guestrooms and suites, which range in size from 40 to 409 square meters (sqm), have been tastefully decorated and offer beautiful views of Jinji Lake and Suzhou’s Eastern Gate. The hotel’s 409 square meter Mega Cool Suite, which boasts a 270-degree view of Jinji Lake and opulent furnishings, a 75-inch ultra-high definition TV, an astonishing open shower, as well as a sizable kitchen and bar, will astound guests.

Additionally, M Social Suzhou provides a 1,200 square meter fitness center, a swimming pool, and a spa, as well as a 728 square meter ballroom that can accommodate social and business events of various sizes.

The hotel offers visitors a spectacular dining experience with its three restaurants and bars, each of which has its own special qualities.

The Beast & Butterflies Restaurant, which is on the 25th floor, offers a bird’s-eye perspective of Suzhou’s bustling urban landscape. In the open kitchen, visitors may converse with the chef as he prepares international dishes that incorporate Suzhou and Southeast Asian flavors together with classic Chinese and Western dishes.

The open-seating Beast & Butterflies Bar serves a variety of teas, including many varieties made by the hotel’s tea sommelier, as well as aromatic coffee. It also features a menu of finely created afternoon teas. Dining guests may also enjoy classic Chinese food at the Canton 8 Chinese Restaurant, which has five floral-themed private rooms for larger groups. Mr. Kwek serves as Executive Chairman of the Hong Leong Group, which includes City Developments Limited (CDL), a Singapore-listed real estate tycoon and the parent company of MHR. One of Asia’s biggest and most prosperous corporations is the Hong Leong Group.

MHR wants to expand the brand into more actual places, such as London, New York, Sunnyvale, Phuket, and significant Middle Eastern cities.
