On 4th May 2022, Lufthansa will launch a new route between Liverpool John Lennon Airport and its main hub in Frankfurt.
The German carrier will be the first to offer nonstop flights from Liverpool to Frankfurt, where Lufthansa and Star Alliance carriers share a single terminal.
Passengers flying from Liverpool will be able to connect to over 150 locations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and the Americas via Frankfurt.
Lufthansa’s senior sales director for Northern Europe, Heinrich Lange, said: “Lufthansa will be the first global network airline in Liverpool with easy reach to destinations on four continents.
“As a premium carrier, we will be the only airline at John Lennon Airport to offer seats in business class and all the amenities of a full-service approach.”
Liverpool John Lennon Airport’s chief executive, John Irving, added: “It has been a long-held desire of both the airport and the city region as a whole to reconnect Liverpool with the world and we are therefore absolutely delighted to be welcoming Lufthansa to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.”
The new service will be Lufthansa’s 11th UK destination, with a flight length of one hour and 40 minutes.
