London City Airport Restart Service to the Danish Town of Billund

The London City airport’s business traffic has returned with the start of service to the Danish town of Billund.

Danish airline Sun-Air has returned to the airport with its 32-seat Dornier 328 and will operate six weekly flights from London.

Since before the epidemic, it has not taken off from the airport.

According to the airline, new flights are offered at “convenient flying times” and give passengers the chance to accrue tier points and Avios.

British Airways, the main airline serving the airport, will discontinue a few of its summer pleasure trips and increase capacity on key business routes in their place.

In September, Edinburgh will have 46 weekly rotations, up from 30 in August, while Dublin will have 36 rotations this month, up from 23 in August.

London City aviation director, Anne Doyere, said: “Brick by brick we’ve built back our network and we’re delighted to welcome back Sun-Air and connections to and from Billund.

“Thanks to our excellent operational performance and consistent speed and convenience, we have enjoyed a strong summer and many new passengers have had the opportunity to experience the exceptional and unique level of customer proposition that we provide at London City.

“Looking ahead, we are optimistic about the rest of the year, particularly with many of our key corporates indicating a desire to not only travel again, but travel from an airport they can rely on.”
