An ode to the well-considered and pleasantly unique. Debuting now in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, Le Petit Pali is the newest restaurant in Avi Brosh’s Palisociety portfolio. Le Petit Pali is a custom-made, one-of-a-kind, and lovingly curated collection of iconic hotels that reimagines the small inn experience for today’s seasoned and discerning traveller.
Le Petit Pali makes its debut with two properties, Le Petit Pali at Ocean Ave and Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave, in the ever-enchanting coastal town of Central California, close to the area’s pristine shoreline, quaint dining and shopping district, and one of the most famous residential enclaves in the nation, admired by design and architecture enthusiasts from all over the world.
“Le Petit Pali is our most personal vision of hospitality to-date,” said Avi Brosh, founder of Palisociety. “We’ve woven together all the elements we love about a classic, small inn experience and paired it with the amenities, services and personal touches we know to be of particular importance for today’s inspired traveler and brought it all to life in some of the most stunning locales in California. It’s a new chapter that we are very proud of.”
The visitor experience at Le Petit Pali is meticulously planned, with every little detail and chance to thrill taken into account. The interior decor of the hotels, created by Brosh and the Palisociety in-house design team, combines the brand’s distinctive aesthetic with a sophisticated and whimsically inspired allure. Each room has a genuine aura of comfortable, understated luxury that feels like a natural extension of Carmel’s unique sense of relaxed and storied style thanks to a heavy ornamentation of personally selected accents, conveniences, and accoutrements.
The dark, coastal colour scheme of the 34 newly created guest rooms at Le Petit Pali at Ocean Ave, several of which have fireplaces, features sage green walls, natural jute rugs, rich wood furniture, vintage paintings, and flowery textiles mixed and matched throughout the area. In a traditional California craftsman-style building a few streets south, Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave has 24 guest rooms arranged around a central outdoor courtyard situated on a peaceful Carmel Street. The accommodations there have fireplaces inside the rooms, suite designs with elegantly outfitted living areas, and the same design aesthetic as on Ocean Avenue, customised to each individual location. Every Le Petit Pali guest room is tastefully furnished with Diptyque bath products, Bellino fine linens, soft robes and slippers, Marshall speakers, and a lavishly curated mini bar filled with locally produced goods, which is the brand’s distinguishing feature. Every day, free deliveries of Baci chocolates and Antipodes bottled water are made.
Beyond the guest room, Le Petit Pali shines with attentive, almost dramatic innkeeping designed to leave a lasting impression. The Diptyque Baies fragrance floating through the air and the all-day soundtrack were meticulously chosen with a discerning ear, and the spaces emanate a casual elegance as a result. Warm warmth and attentive, unhurried service are always extended to visitors. Don’t worry about the perfect beverage. Both residences’ common guest spaces complement one another with roaring fires, wood furniture and decorations, overstuffed flora, and a profusion of rich patterns and textiles. The result has a unique west coast vibe and gives off the impression of an English beach cottage. The indoor lounge at Le Petit Pali 8th Ave is close to a wood-paneled dining room and an inside patio with rich planting, comfortable seats, and heaters to block the coastal breezes.
Every morning, a champagne continental breakfast arouses visitors with tableside Taittinger, mimosas, green juice, tea, and freshly brewed coffee. Additionally, a selection of locally produced pastries and sourdough bread from Rise + Roam bakery are served, and they are covered with vibrant marmalades from Marmalade Grove. Greek yoghurt and seasonal and local fruit go well together, and well done 8-minute eggs provide savoury nourishment. Throughout the day, guests are welcome to explore Carmel’s ever-enchanting streets and coasts on one of the available Linus bicycles, with the assistance of a highly tailored and discerning neighbourhood guide. Visitors are welcome to move freely between Le Petit Pali at 8th Ave and Le Petit Pali at Ocean Ave.
The best of Carmel’s culinary visionaries, such as The Stationaery, Chez Noir Carmel, and Folktale Winery, provide a rotating selection of small bites and snacks during each hotel’s guest-exclusive social hour, which takes place between afternoon and evening. Each guest room receives freshly baked cookies from Rise + Roam Bakery in the evening, and thoughtful extras like hot water bottle service are available to ease you into a restful night’s sleep.
In Carmel-by-the-Sea, Le Petit Pali at Ocean Avenue and Le Petit Pali at 8th Avenue are now open. In addition to the 16 existing Palisociety hotels throughout its Palihouse, Palihotel, ARRIVE by Palisociety, and individually branded portfolios, the new brand will thereafter grow with upcoming properties in Brentwood (Los Angeles), Napa Valley, and Laguna Beach.
