Jet2 was due to start flying from Bristol Airport from 1st April 2021 with a flight to Lanzarote. The airline had announced that Bristol would become its tenth base In November 2020. The airline was planning to operate flights to 33 destinations from the airport.
Covid 19 uncertainty has forced the airline to push back its plans to start operating it services from Bristol airport.
The news has come as a blow to optimistic holiday makers hopeful of restrictions being eased by the end of March to allow them to travel on holiday over the Easter break. All passengers booked on flights with Jet2.com or on a package holiday with Jet2holidays will be refunded in full. Jet2 is the UK’s second largest ATOL holder and has so far been one of the most prompt and efficient travel operators in the UK to provide customers whose travel plans have been impacted by Covid 19 with a full refund.
The airline has cushioned the blow by announcing two brand new destinations that holidaymakers will be able to travel to from Bristol Airport during the Summer in 2022. Malaga in the Costa Del Sol and Larnaca in Cyprus will join the airline’s route network from Bristol. Jet2 will operate the following flights from Bristol Airport in 2022:
