Beginning on 26th March, more flights to China will be added, according to KLM, the national airline of the Netherlands. Following the Chinese government’s relaxation of COVID-19 limitations, numerous airlines have announced an expansion of their capacity and route offerings to this nation.
KLM intends to increase the number of flights to China once the IATA summer schedule starts on March 26th, the airline said this week in a statement. Three times each week, KLM will operate nonstop flights between Amsterdam Schiphol International Airport (AMS) and Hong Kong International Airport (HKG). There will be three Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday departures for Hong Kong.
Additionally, the Dutch airline will begin operating flights to Shanghai Pudong Airport and Beijing Capital International Airport (PEK) (PVG). Prior to switching to daily service in May, there will initially be six flights each week.
Because business travelers are so prevalent there, the Chinese market is essential to KLM’s network. However, Chinese authorities must first approve the projected expansion.
KLM intends to reopen these routes using its Boeing 777-200 and -300ER fleets in the services to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong, as well as the Boeing 787-9 in those services. The Dutch airline will have almost 5,400 seats accessible for its passengers by May on 17 weekly flights.
