Jet2 Removes Face Mask Requirement in Flights

Jet2.com has become the first major UK airline to modify its policy on passengers wearing facial coverings on board.
On Tuesday (1st March), the airline relaxed its mask policies for travelers flying to and from airports in England and Northern Ireland.

Jet2’s updated advice on face coverings on its website, saying, “It’s no longer a legal requirement to wear a face mask at our airports or onboard our planes.”

“However, as per UK government guidance, we recommend that you continue to wear a face mask in these spaces, and you will need to wear one when you get to your overseas destination.”

Face coverings will continue to be required on flights to and from Scottish airports, where wearing them in confined spaces is a legal requirement for everyone aged six and up.

Depending on their point of departure and destination, passengers may also be required to wear face coverings at certain points during their journey.

Jet2 further said, “You’ll need to wear a mask when you leave the plane, inside the airport and onboard our transfers to and from your accommodation, even if you’re fully vaccinated.”

“There may also be additional face mask restrictions in some places, and the rules around ages may differ per destination too.”
