From 8th November, Japan will relax restrictions for business travelers, but no date has been set for when international tourists will be allowed to return.
If they can produce confirmation of their vaccination status, fully vaccinated corporate travelers coming to Japan will only have to self-isolate for three days, rather than the existing 10-day quarantine requirement.
The easing of the prohibition on business visitors is likely to be the first stage in Japan’s government’s gradual reopening of its borders.
According to Japanese media sources, the administration is mulling a proposal that would enable overseas tourists to enter the country in phases, potentially allowing group tours to resume by the end of the year.
