Italy Removes Mask Requirement on Flights

The UK Foreign Office (FCDO) has updated its travel advice for Italy, indicating that due to a change in Italian law, masks are no longer necessary on flights to and from the country.

On 16th May, the EU repealed the requirement that passengers wear masks while flying, although certain European nations and airlines—including Italy—continue to enforce the requirement.

The FCDO recommends individuals to check with their vacation provider before traveling because some airlines have not yet updated their policy, even though it is not legally mandatory for passengers to wear masks on flights to Italy.

FFP2 masks must still be worn, according to the Italian government, when traveling on boats, trains, and buses into the nation.

Italy now permits travelers to enter the country freely without requiring a negative Covid test result or documentation of immunization after completely abolishing its Covid entry restrictions on 1st June.

Prior to traveling to Italy, passengers were no longer required to fill out a passenger locator form.
