Next month, Israel will reopen to all fully immunized travelers.
Previously, only organized groups of tourists were allowed to enter the nation.
The new regulations will go into force on Monday (1st November).
It comes after Israel’s health ministry agreed to the tourism ministry’s recommendation to reopen to individual visitors who could show proof of vaccination.
It came after “many efforts and attempts to discover new solutions to entice tourists back to Israel,” according to the Israel Government Tourism Office (IGTO).
The move, according to the tourism ministry, marks the beginning of attempts to “reignite” Israel’s travel and tourism business.
“This is only the start of the journey. We are full of hope the necessary measures that have been introduced will help, and as things improve it will be possible to ease the conditions of entry into Israel.
“We will continue to work to increase the number of tourists who can enter Israel, in order to reignite the travel and tourism economy.”
Sharon Bershadsky, IGTO director UK and Ireland, added: “The Ministry of Tourism, along with our colleagues in the industry, have been working tirelessly over this difficult period and we are thrilled to be able to welcome visitors back to Israel.”
