The requirement that vaccinated travelers present a negative Covid-19 test result before entering Ireland has been eliminated.
The Irish government announced on Wednesday (5th January) that beginning 6th January, the travel regulations for entering Ireland will be relaxed.
In December, in response to the emergence of the Omicron strain, the requirement for vaccinated passengers to provide either a negative PCR or a professionally performed antigen test was implemented.
According to the Belfast Telegraph, Taoiseach Micheal Martin claimed the rule was no longer necessary because the Omicron type had become widespread in Ireland.
Travelers who have not been vaccinated must nevertheless present a negative PCR test done 72 hours prior to arrival.
